Yesterday we spent the afternoon at the Armstrong Redwoods State Park near Guerneville. This gem of a redwood forest should be on your list if you’re visiting Sonoma County. We drove the one lane, two-way road to the top of the mountains above the redwoods. Up there it is grassland and oak forest with views for miles. Back down in the redwoods the light filters down in dramatic flashes.
