Today we ventured north again. Our first stop was the Kilauea Wildlife Refuge. In residence today were humpback whales (far away), red footed boobies (far away), Nene, Albatross, and flowers.
After that we returned to Hanalei for smoothies, beaches, and art galleries. A great day.

About Paul
I'm retired, but working at painting, photography, and song writing. We like to travel and paint plein air in new places. Of course that's also where photography comes into the picture, so to speak. Sometimes I get inspired to write songs about the people and places we visit.
JP they are indeed albatross. These giants do live in the open ocean, but they come to Hawaii every 5 years or so to nest.
I like your picutres, among which the geese and the sun piercing through clouds. As for the albatross, are you sure it is an albatross; I sort of doubt it; I thought albatrosses live in the southern seas and are famous mainly for taking the head of swimmers or shipwrecked sailors for soft-boiled eggs. Very mean indeed! JP
